Crystal Report Basic 2008

Hi Everybody,

I want to share few points regarding Crystal Reports basic 2008, if you have developed crystal reports with VS2008 and trying to deploy the same in some server you might need the CR runtime for that.

So you will be try downloading CR 2008 which is there in the business objects site and endup in pain.

The main point is CR which comes through VS2008 is a basic version and its version number is(10.5) where as businessobjects gives the runtime for full version and its number is(12.0).

To get the Basic version runtime you need not to go anywhere, you can search in your own machine under(C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5).

This version mismatch will take lot of your time so please make sure that you done the above step before deploy it.

If somebody has any other points they can throw more light on this so that developers life will be safe :).
