A Complete Computer Asset Manager in VB.Net Winforms

Asset Manager


Introduction:-

Asset Manager is an Application that can be used in a Computer Institute where you want to manage the assets used in their Centre. The Assets include Computer hardware, Computers etc..

Working of The Application :-

As the Application is a bit too large i will not be able to cover all the code explanation part.if you have any doubts regarding the Coding please send me a private message.

Some Key Features of Asset Manager:-


It uses a Access Database which is difficult to find because i have renamed the .mdb file to .ddb
So you will find the Access DataBase in AptMan.ddb located in the bin Folder.You just need to Open it With Access 2007/XP.
Has a very Good Menu Structure
  1. File

    1. LogOut :- Logs Out

    2. Change Password:- Allows you to change Login

    3. Exit:-Will Quit the Application

  2. Asset Management

    1. Create New Asset :-Will allow you to add new Asset to any Labs if their available products in the product table.

    2. Add New Product :-Will allow you to add a
      new Product to the Products table.

    3. Add Lab :-Allows you to create a new lab
      in the institute. The lab id will be auto generated.

    4. Add New Software:-This will allow you to
      add a new software as an Asset.

    5. Add New Software Type :-Will allow you to
      add a new software type(Driver, Operating System etc)

    6. Add Computer:-

      1. Rental :- Allows you to add a new
        rental computers

      2. Owned :-Allows you to add a new owned computers

    7. Stock:-Allows you to add Products in Stock

    8. Not Working :-Allows you to add Not-Working products.

  3. Organization Details

    1. Add Rental Vendor:-Allows you to add details of the Rental vendor.

  4. View

    1. Assets:-View All Existing Assets

    2. Products:-View All Existing Products

    3. Labs:-View All Existing Labs

    4. Software:-View All Software's Available.

    5. Computers:-View All Rental and Owned
      Computers.

    6. Stock:-View All Stock.

    7. Not Working List:-View all not-working
      products.

  5. Reports

    1. View Computers:-

      1. Ram Vise:- Category Ram Vise Computer
        Report

      2. HDD Vise:-Category Hard Disk Vise Computer Report

      3. Lab Vise:-Category Lab Vise Computer
        Report

      4. Rental Computers :- Display only Rental Computers

      5. Owned Computers :-Display only Owned
        Computers

      6. View All Computers :-Generalized
        Computer Report

    2. View Softwares

      1. All Software:-Display all available
        software in a Report.


Conclusion:-

The Default Login Credentials is
User Name - Admin and Password - 123

    Venkat it would be better if you specify the error's.

    Visual Studio 2008 SP1
    Crystal Reports That is Included in Visual Studio 2008.
