About Verity Professionals
The software engineer will participate as a member of an agile development team in the design, development and testing of an ASP.NET (C#) based Risk and Compliance software application.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with team members to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with a high level of quality.Learn and participate in the Scrum process
Participate in daily scrum meetings
Work with Product Managers to estimate development and testing time for requirements identified in the form of backlog items.
Update development progress in VersionOne agile project management system
Write code (C#)
Actively participate in testing of the application by writing tests hosted in the NUnit test framework as well as using the application user interface
Provide technical support to the product support team as needed
Understand the business needs of clients and provides technical leadership to ensure that our application meets those needs
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a university degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience.
Microsoft MCSD, MCSE, or MCDBA is preferred, but not required.
At least 4 years experience in developing scalable web-based applications on the Microsoft platform, including ASP.NET, C#, XML, Web Services, and SQL Server 2005.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
ASP.NET (4+ years required)
C# (4+ years required)
Web Services/WCF
SQL Server 2005/2008
Experience with one or more structured development processes like Scrum, Lean, Rational Unified Process, MSF, or Extreme Programming
Experience with Object Oriented Design patterns and methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to interact and communicate with team members, management, business sponsors, and non-technical clients
Experience with providing system documentation with tools like Rational Rose, Visio etc.
