    Hai Elisagrace,
Good to hear that you are going to start a new business and for that you need a website. Do you want to design your website bu your own?I think its better to spend time on constructing the business rather than developing the website. You can get the developed website by other by spending few hundred dollars and also you can get the suggestions for the website as per your business.
As you need a website for your business, better to use some inbuilt templates so that it will be easy to get developed. Word press is good for developing a new website so if you know then go ahead with it.
Hope it will be helpful to you.

before starting any web based application or website you need to follow Waterflow model,
    - first gather all requirement from different sources like what you want to show in website, which images or content you want to display with website
    - Then analyze data and make a different component from it
    - Then start to code it, use JQuery or HTML5 for effects and designing, use C# as codebehind and test it on most popular browsers like IE, FF, Chrome
    - You can use SQL as database
    - Then Test all functionalities carefully and check if your code meets the requirement of project
    - After successful testing you can choose best deployment techniques for ASP.NET
    - Final phase is Maintenance, in which you need to deploy additional patches for the software
Hope it gives you short idea of project development.
    Best luck

Following are some of the tips from my side

    1. Select the web technology that you know very well.
It may be ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, HTML 5. If you are not familiar with that technology first your learn very well then start.

    2. You should very careful in DB Side for performance issue. Create required index and query turning

    3. Find the objects which all are playing in your project

    4. Design the Objects and start create main API's

    Hi All,

First of all, thank you so much for the consideration!
And, I guess you are right Pawan, that instead of developing, I should focus on constructing. WordPress I have tried , and this time I am planning something more professional from a business point of view, keeping the audience in mind.

    Thanks,
    Elisa

    Hai Elisa,
You can design any kind of website using Word-press or you can consult some company who can develop for you. You can better tell them your requirements or give some example sites so that they can refer and then develop the website for you. It will take less time to get your website and then you can start your business side by side.
Hope it will be helpful to you.
