Hai Srikanth,
Programmer and Developer is one on the same things. If you are a programmer, you will do the coding and if developer then also you will be doing coding. So it hardly impacts on the designation you have initially, you will be working on the coding part.
The designation depends on the companies. Few companies have the Jr. Developer, Developer, Analysts, Programmer, Software Engineer, Technical Member etc.
But it doesn't mean that they are working on different profiles.
Hope it will be helpful to you.

Hi Srikanth.
You mentioned that you have completed B.Tech in 2012, but how much experience you had in to programming?
Have you worked any where or you want to start the career as a beginner.
If you are already experienced, I will recommend you to learn mvc, wcf, jQuery and also SharePoint development.
If you want to start as beginner, learn c#.net, asp.net, ado.net, entity framework, css,JavaScript and basic sql queries.
Regards
Thota Sridhar.
If you learn from defeat..
You haven't really lost..

Hi,
My suggestion is .net With SharePoint having bright future in present market, If you are a SharePoint Developer future will be good as compare to .net Developer.
Final Decision is up to you..
