    Cross Functional Technologies for .net

    Hi,

I have 8+ years of experience in .net.
I have realized in the due course that our resume would build strong with learning or working on diverse technologies.
But, I am puzzled on what technologies would add value to my profile.

I have heard about Windows Azure and Dynamics, but not sure though
Could any one please suggest me/others like me who want to go for diverse technologies but related in a way to .net
I have experience in the below technologies
    - ASP .net
    - C#
    - VB .net
    - ASP
    - JQuery/ JavaScript
    - MVC/MVVM
    - MVP
    - LINQ
    - MS SQL Server
    - ORACLE

    Hello Harsha,

It sounds great that you have 8 years experience in .net field.
Now you should switch over to project manager post.
Those all technologies should be mantion if you are good in all.
Write only those technology on which you have confidence to give answer regarding basic thing.
You must have knowledge of a basic fundamentals of thise technology which you have mentioned in your resume, if you have not sure with any technology than you must have to remove it.
I hope you got my point.

Hi Harsh its really great that you have covered and learned lot of technologies and .Net related things in this 8 year experience congrats for that. But in tis case core technologies you have experience if you have knowledge in Sharepoint, BizTalk, Silverlight then those things will be added advantage yes as you mentioned Windows Azure also added advantage. Try to know the basic things in these areas and mentioned it as basic level in resume. Hope you will get a good suitable job as per your wishes. All the best for that.

Yes, that is one of the options I have in my mind..
But I do not receive many such openings instead I find openings for development in diff technologies...
So was just thinking if I need to broaden my skillset

It looks your have good command over .NET technologies, you can use your knowledge to outside world and can build a good team in IT industry.
at the experience of 8+ you need to learn more about the managing thing. You need to learn to handle resources, give project deadlines, create project architecture and design patterns
Try to prove yourself at this experience.
    Best luck

Thankyou for all the suggestions n help...
I am trying to look out for job openings.
Infact even I am interested in PM track..
The problem is I do not find many openings! :|
Whichever openings I see are mostly on development.
In a way I am puzzled if I have to learn new technologies or go for PM track.

    Hi Harsha,

You are expert in almost all technologies then what's the wrong if you continue by using those technologies.?

If you are looking simple and neat in design.? then go to SharePoint this is one of the best choice in that case.

    Hai Harsha,
As you are having good experience because 8+ yrs exp means it looks like you have worked on almost most of the Technologies which are related to the .Net
But if you still want to get some more things, you can go with the MS Dynamics so it will be add on to the functional part.
You can get alone MS Dynamics jobs which is a good pay job in allover the world market as per my experience.
As the MS Dynamics, the people are less so the demand is more and there are good number of opportunities in the market.
Hope it will be helpful to you.
