Are you looking for a way to resolve Certificate key error : the user profile is not accessible or the private key ? then read this thread to know how to do it

    Hi all.

    Machine: Window server 2008 r2, SQL server 2008 r2, Visual studio 2010

I cannot added certificate key in visual studio 2010. I try to install by manually but the message come up: "An internal error occurred. Either the user profile is not accessible or the private key that you are importing might require a cryptographic service provider that is not installed on your system".

What should i do in this case?

    Hi Asheej.

I tried all solutions in kb 919074 before. But it not work( set full control permission for the folder content .pfx file, password is correct and the user profile is administrator).

This case so strange, I think the root cause about user profile. Because i cannot add server role: "active directory certificate services" and when i tried to add by visual studio(ClickOnce Manifest) the message said about i used temporary user profile but the user profile is administrator. Unbelievable
