SSL(Secure Socket Layer) is one of the component for the security implementation for your website.
By using SSL, we can be ensure that our website will be having the secure transactions while sending and receiving data.
This SSL is applied through the client certificate which is nothing but a key provided by the security providers. So you basically need to purchase the client certificate and then install it for your website.
Once you install the Security certificate, your website will run with the Http as well as with the Https(Http with Secure).
When the website is running under the Https, when there is the data which is going outside of your website, an additional security bit will be applied through the SSL(Client Certificate) which is almost unbreakable by the intruders and your data will be safe.
The Client Certificate is having some validity and we need to renew it to extend further. So for that we need to pay to the client certificate provider to renew it and you can continue with the Https.
If you are not renewing your SSL or the Client Certificate, your website will still run on http.
