Limitations of Virtual Computers

This chapter talks abotu some of the limitations of the Virtual Computers created using the Virtual Server 2005 software.

Even though the we mentioned in several chapters that each virtual computer is a fully functional computer, there are few limitations too:

1. Virtual Computer runs bit slower than the host computer since it is running within the host computer.

2. In a multi processor computer, each virtual computer can use a maximum of one CPU. So, large enterprise applications designed to run on multi processor servers may experience significant performance delays when running on virtual computers.

3. Some of the hardware devices on host computer are not available for the virual machines. For example, you cannot use universal serial bus (USB) smart card readers on virtual machines.
