and I think they have rectified it.

Dude don't lose your temper :) it doesn't help you. I am able to understand that you are angry on them as they have given you hope and made u waiting. Fair enough just take it as you have got a good learning / experience in that interview!! which would surely help u in future ... Period.
Cribbing in the discussion forms doesn't help you in anyway. Just forget this and get ready for the next interview. There are lots of openings out there in the market .. just don't waste your time in thinking abt the past and cribbing abt ppl.
That said, who knows what ever they have informed you may also be right! Their CEO may be really not in station. Who knows! Just keep that option open and keep looking out for others places also.
So my advice is don't jump into conclusions and get disappointed. Why do you want to crib and spoil ur name!
Hope you took this in the right spirit.
P.S: I am not way related to that company or I don't know anybody in that company also :) So don't get me wrong :)
