Get current UTC/GMT time using Javascript

This javascript code sample shows how to get the UTC/GMT time offset from the client. This is useful to find the time difference between the client and server in case of web applications.

When your website is accessed from different parts of the world, it is a good idea to store the UTC time in the database and convert them to client/server time wherever necessary.

You can assign this client time to a hidden variable and read from the server side code.
