Difference between XML and HTML

Introduction


As we all know that both XML and HTML are user for similar kind of task.
they both are markup languages.
On the contrary we do have difference between these two markup languages.


Lets see how can we differentiate these

1.HTML- format driven in the sense html takes care of the look an feel of the page
XML -data or content driven that is xml basically works for the data.and anything related to the maintanence of data.

2.Html supports predefined tags
Xml supports userdefined tags

3. Html does not required end tags.
xml do require end tags in order to have well formed documents

4. html does not require quotes,slash where are
xml do require Quotes around attribute values and slash in empty tags.
