What is caching

ASP.NET supports three types of caching for Web-based applications:

1 Output Cache (Page Cache)
2 Fragment Caching (Partial Caching)
3 Data Caching (Application Cache)

Output Cache:
Output cache store whole page in cache. In output cache no event of page will fire. Output cache depends on duration. output cache can be parameterized.

Fragment Cache:
Fragment Cache store store fragement wise information not the whole page. some information store in cache and rest of page came from server.

Data Caching:
Data Caching has three types as follow:

File dependency :- Cache depends on a file. file can be of any type. If file changed then cache is destroyed.

Time-based expiration :- cache exipre on given time. it is of two type Absolute and sliding

Key dependency :-cache depends on another cache. if cache destroyed then dependent cache automatically expire.
