Below Hotfix Will Work on: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0
A hotfix is available for Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 that enables support for extended protection. The hotfix applies to Windows Server 2003, to Windows Vista, and to Windows Server 2008.
The hotfix helps you obtain Channel Binding Token (also known as CBT) from an HTTP request by using the HttpRequest.HttpChannelBinding property in ASP.NET managed code. Then, upper managed layers can perform authentication based on the token. The hotfix affects Web applications and managed stacks that handle client security tokens by using incoming HTTP requests. The hotfix also affects Web servers that are configured to use the extended protection feature. Additionally, the hotfix affects upper-level frameworks that are above the ASP.NET level in the network.
