Initial Screening Reiliance Infocom, Mumbai

RelianceInfocom was the first company I faced for recruitment after my engineering graduation. I was very excited as this was the first recruitment opportunity of my career. The place for interview was DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City) at Mahape in Navi-Mumbai. This place was at least a good 3 hour distance from my home. A couple of crowded Mumbai trains then a bus, and finally the walk inside the very huge DAKC to reach the conference room. We are asked to go to specific building where the HR was waiting for us. I had a couple of my friends with me so it was kind of comfortable. We were in awe looking at the big huge blue glass building at DAKC. There was a helipad also in the campus for dignitaries visiting. Ok, coming back to the interview then. We were briefed about the recruitment process i.e. an initial screening technical test, a technical interview and final HR interview.

Everyone was seated in a conference room with writing pads and pens. The HR lady bought over the technical test paper. It was a 60 minute test. Mixture of quantitative and subjective questions. It was a very simple test. Basics of C, OOPS and some sorting algorithms. 60 minutes flew by. Everyone submitted their papers back to the HR lady. She asked us to wait and have some water, snacks while they compiled the results. After about 20 minutes she came back with the results. Well, astonishingly all 36 candidates qualified and moved to next level of the recruitment.

The next round was the technical interview which I have discussed here - RelianceInfocom Technical interview
