Select nth Maximum value without using RANK / MAX

Query:


Select Salary from Employee a where N = (select count(distinct(salary)) from Employee b where a.salary < b.salary


Note:

Replace the N with the appropriate number. For example if you want to get the second max of salary then replace the N with 2
