Smtp - Error while sending mail from smtp

Hi,

If you get mail sending from our asp.net smtp then you may get a reply mail with


Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:

Diagnostic information for administrators:
 
Generating server: Servername
#< #5.5.0 smtp;550 Blocked> #SMTP#

the above error is because of any one of these case

1) From Address and To address are same (in some mail servers round trip mails may bounce)
2) you need to check your smtp
like Open IIS in that right click on 'Default SMTP Virtual Server' open properties
in that go to ACESS Tab-> Relay button and check whether '127.0.0.1' has added to it or not
if not then add to that

and even error persists in General Tab you will have Enable Logging Check Box check that and trace out your error
Because SMTP automatically logs if any problem occurs while sending mail

maybe your are giving wrong smtp server name or server is not allowed to send mails to non local email addresses

hi Rahul Triapthi,

Some mail servers won't allow spam mail(s).

For Ex: try with you company account with out giving your password put to address and from address as same then you may get the above error in smtp log.

1. The error may be because of the incorrect username or password
2. Check the server name also.
3. Also some servers dont accept specific mail domains.
