This code will populate a list box with month name with the System.Globalization namespace

Dim df As DateTimeFormatInfo = New DateTimeFormatInfo()

DropDownlist1.items.clear()
For Counter = 1 To 12
DropDownlist1.Items.Add(df.GetMonthName(Counter))
DropDownlist1.Items.Add(df.GetMonthName(Counter))
Next

DropDownlist1.Items.Insert(0,"")

This will help you retrive the month selected from the index, because now the index start with 1.

ie, Dim Month as integer = integer.Parse(DropDownlist1.SelectedIndex) will be the selected month
