To populate the drop down list using the array list we have to include the namespace
using System.Collection;

using System.collection;
Button_Click()
{
ArrayList al = new ArrayList();
al.Add("Fruits");
al.Add("Apple");
al.Add("Orange");
al.Add("Pomegranate");
al.Add("Banana");
Dropdownlist1.datasource = al;
Dropdownlist1.DataBind();
}
