Dont need fileuploadeer id paste the code on button click.Here "M" is a Folder name.Use Regular expression for wht type of file u want to upload to the folder.And store the file path and file name in to database for retrieve the file when u need .use gridview use template field inside the gridview and define filepath anf file name in item template..I think it will be help full to u.

Syntex:

HttpFileCollection uploadedFiles = Request.Files;

for (int i = 0; i < uploadedFiles.Count; i++)
{
HttpPostedFile userPostedFile = uploadedFiles[i];
{
userPostedFile.SaveAs(Server.MapPath("M" + "/" +
Path.GetFileName(userPostedFile.FileName)));
}

}
