ROW_NUMBER() is using for retrieving the row numbers just like displaying in the result pane.


Select * from
(Select *,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY EmployeeID) as RowNumber from Employee)Temp
where RowNumber BETWEEN 2 AND 4
