The different types of server controls in ASP.NET are:
1)HTML Server Controls.
2)ASP.NET Server Controls.
3)Validation Controls.
4)User Controls.

HTML Server Controls refer to the HTML elements that can be used in server code. The HTML elements can be converted into HTML server controls.

ASP.NET Server Controls are the general controls like textbox, buttons, tables etc.

Validation Controls are used to validate user input. Normally these controls are attached with textboxes, checkboxes and radio buttons to check the values entered or selected.

User Controls are created by the user and are used just like all other controls.
