The following sample code can bind data to the datagrid
cmd=new SqlCommand("query",con);
da= new SqlDataAdapter(cmd);
ds=new DataSet();
da.Fill(ds,"result");
con.Open();
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
DataGrid1.DataSource=ds;
DataGrid1.DataBind();
con.Close();
