How to Download files using asp.net

To download a file using an asp.net page, add the following lines in the Page_Load event.


string FileName = "Myfile.txt";

Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode(FileName));

Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream";
Response.TransmitFile(FileName);


This will display a dialog of save/run.
