Creating Shared Assemblies in Visual Studio

Before making an assembly "shared", we need to create a strong name key for this assembly. This is normally done with sn.exe tool that comes with .NET. Once a strong name is created :


  1. Enter visual studio's command prompt

  2. Gacutil /i “path_of_the_dll”



The assembly is now a shared assembly.
