Language Integrated Query.
Available with Visual Studio 2008(.NET Framework 3.5). LINQ is a way to querying a data on any source of data. Data source could be a object, database or XML file.
Using LINQ query can be made against any object which is derived from IEnumerable. One benefit of LINQ is it enables to write queries in VB or C#.
LINQ query operations :
All LINQ query operations consist of three different actions-
1. Obtain a data source
2. Create a query
3. Execute a query
