CLR:It is the heart of the .net framework. All the languges have runtime and its the responsibility of the run time to take care of the code execution.

Responsibilities:

1.Garbage Collection: Garbage collector automatically releases those memory where objects are not referred, thus providin efficient memory management.

2.Code Access Security (CAS):It determines whether a piece of code is allowed to run or not and what are the resources that it can use while running.

3.Code Verification:This ensures proper code execution and type checking while the code runs.

4.JIT:CLR uses JIT and compiles the Intermediate Language code to machine code and then executes.
