Some days back i was written a code to maintain a log file which contains the trace for a particular page.
For this what i did i open a file and write whatever info i need into it. It is very much ok if the page is hit by less users. But what if more users are hitting the page, all page will try to write into the file, and hence you will start getting write access issue (other process is using the file).
To avoud this situation we can use lock
lock(this)
{
// critical codes
}
This is also known as mutual exclusion.
