Job Description
Qualification: BE / B.Tech
Experience : 1 to 3 years
Job Position: Software Packaging engineers.
Job Location: Chennai
Client: Our Client is one of the world’s leading CMM Level 5 Company.
Profile Expectation:
The person
· Strong knowledge of Windows2000/Windows XP operating system.
· Knowledge and experience using scripting tools such as Wise Package Studio, SMS Installer, or InstallShield.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills.
· Strong Knowledge of how applications get installed and the different component types associated with most applications (i.e., shortcuts, application files, system files, registry entries, dsn)
· Strong Knowledge of the different types of applications common in a distributed computing infrastructure (i.e., 3-tier architectures - front-end, middle-ware, backend - client\server, thin-client and standalone).
Preferred technologies / skills:
1. Prior Software Packaging experience.
2. Knowledge of Windows XP and/or Windows 2003 internals, including the Registry, File System, Permissions, Services, etc.
3. Experience with scripting on a Windows O/S, preferably with VB Scripting.
4. Knowledge of Microsoft. MSIs and. MSTs used in software packaging/distribution
5. Experience with managing and supporting Windows desktop environment.
6. Experience with working on Windows NT or Windows 2000 or Windows XP or Windows 2003 Operating Systems.
7. Experience with application troubleshooting under Windows environment from an installation/packaging point of view.
Key Skills: Wise Packaging Studio, Knowledge of Microsoft. MSIs and. MSTs used in software packaging/distribution.
The Candidate should have:
1 Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
2. Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English and listening skills) .
3. Candidate should be a quick learner. Should have demonstrated in the past quick learning capabilities � e.g. worked on a project without a given skill but acquired those skills quickly.
4. Must be a team player.
