Job Description
Position : Architect
Experience: 8 – 15 years
Nature of Experience: An architect with the ability to guide best technical choices and to help coach a development team.
Qualification: B.E. / MCA
Role Description:
• Understand the business aspects of the product “Product Information Management” (PIM) market.
• Architect/design enhancements and new features / solutions
• Ensure quality to the satisfaction of our stakeholders.
• Understand customer perspective and requirements.
• Participate in sales efforts.
• Collaborate with our professional services team on upcoming implementations.
• Tapping into personal knowledge and experience of those technologies we currently use as well as research into alternative and emerging technologies in order to design optimal solutions for the present and future.
• Rationalizing of build-versus-buy decisions at many levels
• Promotion of reuse of code/modules/components etc.
• Work with other members of the development team to optimize their contributions
• Suggest / follow best practices from a software design and architecture level as well as a development level.
• Prescribe practices for building quality into the software
• Help the QA team to design/review test plans and scenarios
• Perform occasional general testing of software deliverables
• Hands-on development.
• Act as a last technical support resort in diagnosing challenging issues when required.
• Self Starter with minimum supervision
• Coach and mentor Team Lead and team members.
Essential Skills
• Has worked with a customer, understanding customer requirements and suggest solutions with customer perspective.
• Design software taking factors like performance, stability, consistency, maintenance etc into consideration.
• Design software taking long-term roadmap into consideration.
• Understands internals of software tools / frameworks used in software development.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills
• Experience in working with high availability systems, hosted systems, performance systems, source control systems, Velocity, Hibernate.
• Experience in both agile and traditional methodologies.
• Experience in working with a global team.
