The role requires broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect a solution by mapping a customer’s business problem to an end-to-end technology solution. Demonstrated ability to engage in Sr. level technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and .NET is a must. Consultants have a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer/partner experience.
The Developer Consultant helps customer/partner account teams identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing projects. To accomplish this, Developer Consultants must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. When asked, consultants help translate business or application development requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work.
The successful candidate will provide technical direction and leadership in the architecture, design, development, and deployment of .NET solutions within our customer base. This person will have deep technical skills in .NET and related MS technologies/products as well as solid architecture and design skills. This person will leverage local field employees, product group expertise, and partner resources as required to design, develop, and deploy solutions. This person will fill all technical roles: lead .NET Architect & Designer, Project Manager, Developer, work directly with customer IT to define and scope strategic .NET implementations, foster and maintain relationships with key technical resources in product groups, regional MCS and Support organizations, understand how and when to leverage their skills, provide direction, instruction, and understanding around complex .NET concepts to customers and their technology personnel, work with business development during project envisioning to properly characterize technical alternatives and scope opportunities, and this person will be a spokesperson for Microsoft within our customer base and will meet with customers, partners and key industry influencers to present our vision. He/she must be fluent in all aspects of products and services and possess excellent presentation skills to concisely design, articulate and present our strategy to decision makers within the industry.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced level of knowledge in 3+ of the following areas: .NET Frameworks, C#, ASP.NET, SQL, XML Technologies and Web Services. Good knowledge of MS Products such as Win2003 Advanced Server, SQL Server 2000/2005, BizTalk Server 2004, SharePoint Portal Server 2003, Office System, COM+, .NET Framework, TCP/IP and general networking and Active Directory is required. The candidate should have a graduate degree or equivalent work experience combined with a minimum of eight years relevant working experience in systems development, software support, and consulting - including enterprise architecture.
