how to ignore backslash charecter in textbox in windows application

hi all,
iam developing windows application.ia have one textbox in my application to enter the file path.my question is if the user enter the path with back slash as the first charecter of the path name or last charecter of the path name then i have to ignore the backslash charecter.(if it is in the first place or in the last place).how to achive this? can any one give me coding for this?i need this very urgently help me plzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
