(ITS URGENT plz help me) : Error perforing MODI OCR on GIF89a images

Hi

I am trying to extract Text from GIF image With the help of Microsoft Office Document Imaging Library (MODI) , which is contained in the Office 2003 package

Initially I was able to perform OCR on some gif images and while it wasnt working on some images
Later i found out that there are two types of GIF images (GIF87a and GIF88a)
and the images on which i m able to perform OCR are GIF87a

Can please somebody help me on
How to perform OCR on GIF89a images ? or
How to convert GIF89a images to GIF87a (or any other format) so that i can perform OCR on them ?
( i also tried opening the image file in text editor and changing the content's starting text from GIF98a to GIF87a with no success )

Try with other OCR. who regonizes gif89a
