error

Hi
my sql for inserting data in table was working fine,now its showing the error message while commit.
msg is - LabelObject reference not set to an instance of an object.

trans2.Commit()
Catch ex As Exception
trans2.Rollback()
Console.WriteLine("Error", ex.Message)
Labelmsg.Visible = True
Labelmsg.Text = Labelmsg.Text + ex.Message
What can be the reason.
please help

Posibilities:

Labelmsg.Text = Labelmsg.Text + cstr(ex.Message)

and/OR
Initialize label with some text before appending
