Is it possible to run vs.net on linux platform ?

no, it is possible with windows only.
.net is not plotform independent.

its not platform independent, but we have something called mono project, that u have to download from the site and is freely available, and u can use the dll or the exes there at linux, the mono project is for linux, unix, macintosh
