    Oracle Connection Using Oracle.ManagedDataAccess

    HI Guys,

I had updated Oracle.ManagedDataAccess dll from OracleDataAccessPoint in a application to acces the oracle DB. But Command.ExecuteNonQuery () is not working. Same time, no error is also thrown. The table value is not updated after the execution of the code part.

I find few of the code or intellisense of Oracle commands in VB.Net is not working as well as no error is thrown when Oracle.ManagedDataAccess dll is used.

So help me the alternative code for Command.ExecuteNonQuery ()

It looks like a strange issue. I believe it should throw error if there are any issues. Try to put try catch block and see if you can find any issues.

    Otherwise please post your code.

ExecuteNonQuery method returns the number of rows affected by executing the code. Please debug and make sure that the expected number of records is updated and also check if you are providing the correct input values while updating the data in the database.

    Hai Rajabharathi,
Have you installed the Visual Studio compatible ODP.Net correctly in your system and you are using the correct connection string which is connecting to the database. Also dns is required for the Oracle so you need to have that too.
Once all is fine try to execute it in local by debug and check the ExecuteNonQuery() returns. If it returns the value -1, means its not updating in to the datbase. So based on the return value, you can check whether it is correct or not.
Hope it will be helpful to you.
