    You can go for JQuery Ajax Call. Make a java script call for your check box change.

    Following is the sample code for refresh the content without refresh the entire page.

    type: 'POST',
    url: 'Your URL For Web method',
    data: '{"format":"' + "Test" + '"}',
    contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8',
    dataType: 'json',
    async: true,
    success: function (r) {
    var items = r.d;
    var tC = new Array();
    tC.push("Your Content From the result of ajax call");
    for (var i = 0; i < tC.length; i++) {
    html += tC[i];
    complete: function (r) {

    error: function (xhr, status, error) {

    If you want to hit database and show the result back to your screen without refreshing the page, then the best approach is using AJAX UpdatePanels.

    Use AsyncPostBackTrigger template and mentioned the event name to avoid postback.

    Refer below sample code for your reference.

    <asp:UpdatePanel ID="upCancel" runat="server" UpdateMode="Always">
    <asp:ImageButton ID="btnCancelYes" OnClick="btnCancelYes_Click" runat="server"
    ImageUrl="~/Images/btnyes.jpg" />
    <a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="closepopup()">
    <img src="~/Images/btnNo.jpg" style="border: 0px" align="right" /></a>
    <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="btnCancelYes" EventName="Click" />

    Update panel is the good way for partial page post back, in this way you can send only gridview to post back and can see changes easily.
    Just put the 'scriptManager' in your aspx page with 'EnablePartialRendering' property to true, see below snippet
    <asp:ScriptManager EnablePartialRendering="true"
    ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager>

    add your gridview in content template as below sample shows
    <asp:ScriptManager EnablePartialRendering="true"
    ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager>
    <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
    <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server"
    Text="This is a label!"></asp:Label>
    <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server"
    Text="Click Me" OnClick="Button1_Click" />
    Now if you code it using code behind then also it wont get postback

    If you are using ASP.NET then you are having option of using AJAX toolkit in it.

    Use update panel tool from the toolbox.
    Remaining things will be same.

    Inform me if you still not get the output.
