    Gridview customization

I want to extend the asp.net Gridview functionality and make it customized with
    below behaviors.

    1. Fixed header: Header should not move while scrolling

    2. Multicolumn sorting: sorting should be allowed to all columns in the grid

    3. Paging: Paging can be done with First, previous, next,Last and Go to page options

    4. Grid should be rendered properly in all browsers.

    5. Data binding to the grid should be done through Stored Procedure.

Can anybody help me on this?

    Hai Chinnari,
You can get many articles on each of these implementations:
    1. Fixed header: Header should not move while scrolling
    A. This can be done using a simple css style

    http://asphelps.com/GridView/How-to-fixed-GridView-header.aspx

    2. Multicolumn sorting: sorting should be allowed to all columns in the grid
    A. I think for this, you need to customize the gridview so that it should preserve the previous sorted column and add it while sorting.
    3. Paging: Paging can be done with First, previous, next,Last and Go to page options
    A. It should be easy using inbuilt pagination or custom pagination.
    4. Grid should be rendered properly in all browsers.
    A. Check the styles should be supported in all browsers.
    5. Data binding to the grid should be done through Stored Procedure.
    A. Just write an stored procedure and get the data in to the DataSet.
Hope it will be helpful to you.

If you are unable to do something properly for the first time, call it Version 1.0!
