Restful api in wcf?How to host it?

I want to create restful api in wcf.I have gone through 2-3 articals.I have done practice of it.It is working properly. Here we r using webHttpBinding and hosting in IIS.I have question.According to my knowlege rest api support webHttpBinding binding only. Can I host it as self host.Self host support all type of bindings.Which one is better? webHttpBinding support both http and https protocol. If i want to use Https, does I need to specify that in webconfig file?

    Hai Pinky,
To host the restful services, it is similar to the Web Services or asmx.
It can also be hosted as self hosting but you need to make sure that the service will always be running. That why, it is preferable to host on IIS in which the service is not needed to be running always. IIS supports both HTTP and HTTPS for the websites and services to provide the response.
You can follow the below link for more details:

Hope it will be helpful to you.

It is very simple to host your WCF application in your web server.

It is dependent of your hosting server and IIS.
