    How to show process bar/message to user in order to stop further processing.

    I have created one page.All 3 dropdownlist get loaded at page level.When I select Dropdownlist one(student),second dropdownlist filled base on first,when i select any item from 2 dropdownlist,
    3 dropdownlist get filled.But Some time it take to show the result of selection,into another dropdownlist it shows the initial result.I want to show message/processing image to user and prompt user for further processing.How to do that.Updateprogress or timer control ?
