BizTalk Server is ideal for use primarily in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), systems integration between business partners or Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business Process Management (BPM).

Along with BizTalk you also need to learn C#.Net, SQL Server, Webservices, WCF etc.

EAI, EDI or else integration. Businee activity monitor, RFID and so on..... You can search out so much information from google.

    Hai Ravindra,

BizTalk Server is one of the integration tool which can be used to integrate different applications which are developed in different technologies.
It uses messaging architecture for the integration.
When there is the requirement to talk or to communicate with other applications which are developed in different languages, then we can use the BizTalk Server to integrate those applications so that they can communicate and transfer the data from one application to another.

It used the XML for the data transfer. it means lets say we have a .net application and one Java Application and we want to get some data from the Java Application and want to use into our .net application. so in that case, we can use BizTalk server as the middle-ware technology and the BizTalk server use some adapter to connect the application and then it can retrieve the data and convert it to XML. as XML is platform independent so the other application consume that XML and convert in to their own language and use it.

Hope you will get some idea about the BizTalk server.
For other detailed description, you ca go through various Microsoft websites or BizTalkGuru.com.
