What are the requirements for VS 2010 installation

hi,

I want to install Visual Studio 2010, I have a server with Windows 2003 SP2

I have downloaded VS2010 and trying to install but it is giving error...

ERROR:

A compatible version of Visual Studio 2010 was not detected on the system. This update is designed for only the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
------------

Hi, you can install Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on the following operating systems: •Windows Server 2003(sp2) (x86 & x64) •Windows Server 2003 R2 (x86 & x64) •Windows Server 2008 (sp2)(x86 & x64) •Windows Vista(sp2) (x86 & x64) - all editions except Starter Edition •Windows 7 (x86 & x64) Thanks "IF YOU WANT TO SHINE LIKE A SUN FIRST YOU HAVE BURN LIKE IT".

Hi imtyaz , You are getting error because you are not installing the comptable version of Visual Studio 2010 for Windows 2003 SP2.Try to download Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express edition because its work good and comptable with all windows. download and install from : microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/express Visual Studio 2010 supported all microsoft operating systems, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP,Windows Vista and Windows 7. Hi, Are you trying to install VS 2010 or Service Pack? It seems like you are installing the service pack. This error may occur if you have ASP.NET MVC 3 RC or Visual Studio Async CTP installed in your system already.
