How to change div ul li selected color

I'm working application.

This is my vertical menu.
<div class="arrowsidemenu">
<div class="menuheaders">
<a href="#" title="WorkOrder">Work Order</a></div>
<ul class="menucontents">
<li class="selected"><a href="#1/">>> Work Order</a></li>
<li><a href="#2/">>> Scope of Works</a></li>

I want show my ul li as RED color when it is selected using CSS...

How to do it?

There is no option to change the color of selected "li".
But you can do this for anchor tab by using a:active and a:current.
