Hello DNS'ians,

Venkatesan Prabhu J. is a senior Diamond member who is also an MVP awardee and got the award in the year 2008. He has been a very active member of DotNetSpider and is contribbuting in DNS from the last 2 years. He is working with HCL Technologies as a Senior DotNet Developer and SQL DBA. He has completed his B.E Degree (Computer Science) in Government Engineering College, Tirunelveli. Venkatesan Probhu has submitted papers in 25 symposiums which include national level, state level and university level sympoiums. Previously he was an editor of DotNetSpider website but presently an active member of DNS. He has provided very good answers in DotNetSpider forums and guided many people.

He was awarded with DotNetSpider MVM award recently in October, 2009. We had an interview with him to get his views on DotNetSpider and his message to DotNetSpider members. Here is the interview we had with him.

Please tell us about yourself?

Microsoft MVP on SQL Server / SQL Server DBA / Senior dot net developer from HCL Technologies, India. Currently, working with HCL Australia pty ltd., Born and brought up in Dharmapuri, Completed B.E (CSE) – First class with distinction from Government college of Engineering, Tirunelveli. A Microsoft Certified IT professional / Technology Specialist / Application developer on SQL Server and Dotnet holding 13 international technical certifications. My specialization includes networking, security, web designing and database administration. Published my research papers on Image processing and Cryptography in various national conferences in Tamil Nadu, India. Achievement includes 7 National, 1 State, 1 University and 1 college level prizes in paper presentations.
Initially, I was trained by Microsoft and HCL in Dotnet / SQL Server and awarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) / SQL Knowledge champion by my company. You can check my profile in the Microsoft site, https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/profile/venkatesan or @ my personal blog http://knowaboutvenkat.blogspot.com.
Usually, I blog my technical articles on SQL Sever in http://venkattechnicalblog.blogspot.com and you can see me in various SQL Server forums like MSDN, DNS, SqlCentral etc..,
Apart from technology, my interest lies in sports. I play Table Tennis, Cricket and Tennis and have won 2 district level / 1 division level trophies / Facility level prizes (Company) in Table Tennis, 1 district level trophy in karate.

How did you get into DotNetSpider community?

While searching for a technical issue, I entered into this site through google and felt interesting on the articles posted in this site. To learn the technology, I used to visit this DNS site. At some stage, I have started helping people through forums in this site.

What motivated you to contribute in DotNetSpider?

“Providing good to others” - Everyone in this world will have a thought + waiting for an opportunity to help others. But, they don’t know, “How to?” I too travelled on the same track and found this site as a vey great platform to help others. In addition, I have learnt a lot on various technologies and a very good place to reach lot of techies.

How much time do you spend on Technical communities to help
others?

I don’t have any concrete timing to spend with the communities. After office hours, you can see me at DNS, Microsoft, SQLCentral, SQLPerformance forums. Now, I have started using most of my time in blogging @ my technical blog.

How are you balancing your Work life with your contribution in Technical Communities?

Usually, after reaching my home (After work) I used to spend part of my time with technical communities.

Please share with us your journey of becoming an DNS-MVM?

Of course, I am too happy to get this award. Now, I can recognize a famous quote “No one can stop ones achievement / success. Do better things to get the best”. DNS paves a fantastic path for the young developers in helping their issues, Horne their skills, recognize their effort. This award symbolizes our greater efforts / helps to the communities.

Few words about DotNetSpider?

No words to comment on the great Dotnetspider site. This site is “Born to live” among the world class community sites.

What are your career goals?

A very big plan which I don’t think, I can achieve with in my life time (Life is too short). In precise, I want to be an all time expert in application development / Networking + My lovable DBA job.

Best moment in DotNetSpider tenure?

DNS appreciates the efforts of each individual who comes down to help others. My first prize in DNS is a remarkable one for me.

Any message to technologists and suggestions to make DotNetSpider as World's number one Technical Site?

Already, this site is moving towards number one. All the best to each individual for making this site, a wonderful place to rest our valuable thoughts. Hats off to Mr. Tony John, a silent man behind a greatest achievement.

Hope this interview will be useful to all members.

We will be publishing interview with other MVM's also. Check out the winners here - October MVM's announcement

Thank you

Kind regards,
