String Format for Currency

hi i want to show currency values with laksh and thousand separators

i already used string.format but it is showing like this

123456.00-->123,456.00

but i want like this 1,23,456.00

any body help me

this works for me!

int value = 123456789;
string h = String.Format("{0:#,#.}", value);
Response.Write(h);
