Using the menu control

i am unable to use the menu control properly , when i run the application i get only the root node on display , also can any one enligthten me on how to make a drop down menu on the panel control , i will do the coding , please give me explaination about hte process.
i am attaching the screen shot of my menu control output,, please explain me the error
