Earlier we mentioned that Web Parts are part of Web Part Zones which in turn are a part of Web Part Pages. A WebPart class consequently needs to work with the WebPartZone and WebPartPage classes to perform functions such as customizing settings, connecting, adding, removing etc. etc. Hence the difference.
