Doubt about website application

Hi everyone,

When i run a website through .net,there is an icon in taskbar named ASP.net Development Server with the url for the application running locally.My question is if i give the URL without running the application it still works.Where does the application is stored and how does it run without running the application.

Please enlighten me

It is stored in the IIS or Internet Information Services.

You can take your IIS in this way :

Start > Run > type inetmgr > click Ok

There you can find your project name under the tree somewhere.

Your Website is stored by Default in IIS.
You can find it by opening
Start --> Control Panel --> Admistrative Tools --> Internet Information Services --> (open the website node)
