Ajax is used for the partial post back of the page using the Ajax we can update a particular part of the page and user won't feel that the page is post back
and
1. Repater control is used to display the data it is a light weight control in comparison to grid view
2. repater control can not be used for updation
3. in repater control you have to make templates to use it
