how to fill dropdownlist in this way .....

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to fill dropdown list control in following way...

Actually i have the datalist control.it has tow coloumns
1. User Name .......> hyperlink column
2. Related Items.....> dropdownlist column.

now a table has fields same as name above of columns. but i want to fill the dropdownlist using this query.

"SELECT RelatedItem From TableName where UserName="+DropDownList.Rows[currentrow][i]+";

Or
in short fill dropdownlist by where clouse with its respective UserName column Text.....
how it is possible... is it too simple...how....
plz help me....

hi,
please clarify that when you click in the user name which is in the data list then it is fill drop down according to user name if this is write then you used item command event in the data list in that when user click any user name then at item command event you get the name of the user and then fill drop down.
